Amy, You had me at Frank.
Days after the anticipated FNO in NYC, Britain and the world will remember Ms. Amy Winehouse on her birthday this September 14th; the first since her tragic death this passed summer. The singer is famed for her unprecedented musical achievements, profound vocals and one of a kind look. Fashion also took note of her unique appeal, as Amy conquered
the realm of music. Her 50's style get-ups and 60's style do-ups inspired fashionistas world-wide as well as top designers. Karl Lagerfeld claimed her as his muse directly following her record-breaking Grammy wins.
In 2010 Amy Winehouse had begun designing her own clothing lines for the established Fred Perry collection. Following her death, the family decided to proceed with Amy's clothing lines which will release this season. Her collections extend through next Fall and profits will benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation which intends to sponsor "children and young people in her name."

KNIT-spiration for (F)ALL / FASHION UPDATE
NYC, Mayor Bloomberg & VOGUE magazine will host the third ever, Fashions Night Out on September 8th, 2011, launching the first night of New York City's Fashion Week.
The event will integrate shoppers with designers to celebrate shopping and the clothes. Participating shops will offer expert styling sessions, in-store games and giveaways, and of course, refreshments including champagne and wine-tastings; all to the tune of an array of guest DJs.
An event that caught my eye is a visit from designer Gail Travis to Kaight on Orchard street, who will present her unique "convertible sweater" technique. Shoppers can plan the perfect Fashions Night Out and learn more about this ultimate shopping spree!
NYC Fashion Week will commence this September 8th and continue through the 15th showcasing the Spring/Summer season ahead.

KNITspiration, for (F)ALL ...
Welcome to my Knit Wit Design Blah-gg!
Knitting is defined by the Dictionary as: "interlocking loops or other yarn with knitting needles or by machine." Knitting is also defined as "becoming united." For me and my jewelry, knitting has meant both.
I realized furthermore, that one of the first common threads among humans was the need to clothe ourselves and in response, we knit.
Hand-knitting has shifted over time from beginning as an absolute necessity and progressing with various techniques to a point of near extinction, when machines became the fashion industry by the 1980’s.
However, knitting has always remained a hobby of many in its theraputic repetition,
joining people and yarns. Today knitting has begun to re-emerge in fashion,
inspired by the chaos engulfing our world.

The pure and simple knit stitch from our past regains momentum to rejuvenate the consistency we lack in nature.
I create hand-knit jewelry using these back-to-basic methods and each piece comes off
my sticks unique and special, crafted with love in every stitch. I then adorn each item with my native NYC style, in the form of vintage and recycled embellishments that relate my
